Kriti Handmade - Folkloric Design Studio of PabithaPrakash the artist and Prakash , the idealists behind each project. We are based in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. We are committed to the development of innovative ideas based on our Indian Art and its tradition. We create painted home décor and antique wooden furniture that are hand painted and hand carved. We revive the ancient style furniture and aspects in our products. Being a temperamental artist, I also indulge in creating various aspects based on wood, with the ideology of bringing unique works, hence there will never again be another piece like the one we create.
We labor our Hand carved home décor products from our skilled artisans with our ideas we imbibe with the inspirations from our Ancient Architectures. They redefine existing traditional crafts by providing one on one aesthetic works as per our suggestions. We custom make for each client, It’s indeed a challenge, still we aspire to the creative sense of the work. Thus all our products appeal to both the discerning eye and be the heart of the décor.
What We Do
All the finesse painting works are done by me. We are always drawn towards the rawness we find in the folk arts across India. It always has deep roots into our own handmade traditions and skills that are embedded deeply in our culture. We are the first to infuse the most graceful folk art form – Kolam into various wooden furniture and home decors. Prakash and myself worked on different concepts, the confluence of kolam art with other traditional arts of India, like Kolam and Tamilnadu traditional aspects, further on. We also take inspiration from our Ancient Architecture, especially the temples for our paintings and the wooden hand carvings.
All our home décor accessories are made of wood that are crafted and designed in our own studio. We work on varied wood as per the artwork and also as per the client’s requirement. We always consider the quality of the wood and its adaptations to the projects. The aspiration we have on right sourcing of the raw materials and reshaping it into our canvases by our skilled artisans who hold a firm note on our accountability which our clients have on us today.
Our take on Paintings
Kriti Handmade is the first brand that worked on hand painted wooden traditional board games like Pallanguzhi, a South Indian traditional board game and Pachisi / Dhaayam. We have a wide range of Pallanguzhi game boards, and also interesting concepts of the pallanguzhi as a wall décor with miniatures paintings and kolam on it. Reviving and revisiting old charms and its traditions are being the heart of décor these days. And we believe to put forth the aesthetics of culture in our décor.
Our Aspiration
We believe to work on unique concepts for now, and always. We work towards providing the art pieces that hold the charm of our culture and imbibe the décor sense of the clients who cherish it. We don’t have bigger plans to fall in space, just to add more cultural decor to the beautiful abode.
